There are moments where time and space blur. When I'm sitting at a cafe, drinking a latte and tapping out lines of code. When I stand at the top of a yoga mat in mountain pose starting my practice. When I'm wandering down lane ways with beats in my ears. They are experienced in different cities, different points in my life but they could all sync into one endless stream.
I'm continuously seeking the unexperienced moments. The moments that create openness and shift perspectives.
There's a period of tension when you're learning how this beast works. Pull the lever up toward the rabbit to go up hill faster, shift the lever down toward the turtle to go down hill. Push the red button to activate reversing.
How do I want to go about mowing this paddock? There are big and little bushes, pipes and fences that I have to maneuver around. Carve a path with my eyes and feel it out as I go, yeah?
The sun sets while intimate moments are shared over wine on the fire escapes of NYC. The sounds of the city wafts up from below. Pitching up my tent under the view of Mt Baldy in Idaho, watching the puffy snow descend from the sky inside my cocoon. San Francisco, the summer of freedom and self discovery. These are fragments of my past lives.
I hop off the machine and notice blades of grass covering me. I can't help grinning like mad. Looking out across the paddock I just mowed, I notice an inner stillness. The feeling of being rooted, solid and in tune with everything around me. There's beauty found in the convergence of meditation and nature.
Have I lived this life before? Surely not. These moments are what I seek. Show me what I've not seen. Share stories I've not yet heard. Tell me of your past lives.
